Whitby Jetis fossilised driftwood, discovered in Yorkshire in England. In the Victorian era jet was mined both inland and alongthe coast. Jet is no longer mined and all our jet is found through natural coastal erosion. Whitby jet is famed for is deep and intense black colour and the lustrous shine. Jetis a spiritual gemstone and is considered to have abilities of protection and purification, with grounding energies.
