In a shield shape, set with a unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on the front, and a piece of jet on the back. This pendant is set with a 20" sterling silver curb chain, other lengths are available.
Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.
Jet is fossilised driftwood, discovered in Yorkshire in England, Northern Europe, Asia and North America. Jet is a spiritual gemstone and is considered to have abilities of protection and purification, with grounding energies.
