Derbyshire Blue John Inverted Pyramid Shape Reversible Pendant and Chain

We have for sale an absolutely stunning sterling silver Blue John extra large size reversible pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In an inverted pyramid shape, this pendant is set with a unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on the front andrutilated quartz on the back. On the side of the pendant is a large feature Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office with date letter u. This beautiful pendant comes supplied on a strong 20" sterling silver curb chain.

Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.

Rutilated quartz is a type of quartz stone that contains fine strands of rutile, that are typically gold or black in colour. This beautiful looking stone is considered to have healing properties, such as protection, removal of negative energies, relieving fears and anxiety.
