A stunning pre-owned vintage engagement ring, with a very large antique old cut diamond, set in an 18ct yellow gold ring.

The diamond is an antique Old Brilliant Cut Diamond, originally mined and cut pre-1930. Old Cuts have slightly different proportions to the modern brilliant cut, with a deeper crown and flat cullet. It would have been shaped and faceted without the modern technology the diamond industry relies on today, making each old cut diamond unique and something to admire.

The carat weight for this diamond is calculated to 3.10ct, with an approximate diameter of 9mm. This unique diamond is not of the colour range we usually see in engagement rings, as it has been assessed as O/P colour. This means it has a yellow tint, which is captured within the photo and is really is quite beautiful. It is wonderfully clear diamond inside, with minimal inclusions, and assessed as VS clarity. This gives the gem a dazzling sparkle, with fire and brilliance set against the pale yellow tint.

The mount is 18ct yellow gold, tested by our goldsmith, but un-hallmarked, as often found with antique rings. The white gold collet is beautifully carved, with an 8-claw setting in excellent condition. The shank measures 1.5mm width and is currently a finger size M.
